Dry by Design: Olmetex

Olmetex has been setting the benchmark for technical fabrics since 1952. From their headquarters in Como, Italy, this family-owned mill has spent decades perfecting outerwear textiles, driven by a relentless pursuit of quality, sustainability, and innovation. Their fabrics are trusted by some of the world’s most respected brands and for good reason.

They combine luxury and performance in a way that feels effortless. The technical twill we’ve chosen for our new coats is a perfect example. It’s water-repellent, quick-drying, and easy to care for, all without compromising on softness or drape. It doesn’t feel like “performance” fabric. It just feels good.

Why We Chose It

When our designer Grady came across this particular Olmetex twill, the decision was immediate. With a crisp yet forgiving structure and a soft, showerproof finish, it offered exactly what we were looking for in an everyday outer layer. The blend — 68% polyester, 32% cotton — is finished with a PFC- and PFA-free water-repellent coating, making it better for your skin, your wardrobe, and the environment.

This isn’t outerwear that hides in the back of the wardrobe until a storm rolls in. These are coats designed for versatility to take on changing seasons, shifting weather, and unexpected plans. To throw on when the forecast changes, or simply when you want to pull things together.

Crafted With Purpose

Every detail in the Aro Parka and Loch Raglan Coat reflects our ongoing commitment to craftsmanship. Both are cut from Olmetex’s refined technical twill, selected for its ability to balance performance with polish.

The Aro brings everyday utility with its water-resistant finish, detachable hood, and adjustable waist, while the Loch offers a cleaner silhouette with raglan sleeves, hidden buttons, and a removable belt. Both styles come in thoughtfully engineered fits (including Short and Tall) designed to suit a range of builds without compromising on style or comfort.

But perhaps more importantly, these are coats made to be lived in. To take on wet commutes and dry spells alike. To age with you. To show that technical outerwear doesn’t need to feel tactical and refinement doesn’t need to mean fragility.

Sustainable by Nature, Not Just in Name

Like us, Olmetex is committed to doing better — for their customers and for the planet. Their operations are built on traceability and transparency, backed by certifications like GOTS, GRS, OCS, and ISO environmental standards. Thanks to solar power and a cogeneration plant, they now produce up to 70% of the energy needed to run their mill — a clear, measurable investment in sustainable production.

In short, they care. About fibres, processes, outcomes. And we believe you’ll feel that care — and our own — in every thread of these coats.
