how to wear chinos to suit any occasion

The apocryphal story of the chino dates back to the British army in 19th century India. However, it was the adoption of the chino as standard issue by American armed forces that led to them becoming part of the lexicon of men’s style.

Following World War 2, chinos made their way into civilian life and became the unofficial uniform of Ivy League universities. Since then, aided by the constant casualisation of menswear, they’ve become ubiquitous.

No man’s wardrobe is complete without at least one pair of chinos.

Office appropriate

Chinos are perfect in almost every modern office environment when worn with a blazer and open-neck shirt. Because they are dressier than jeans, you can even throw on a tie to dress the look up a notch. During working hours, a pair of leather shoes is usually the best option.

After Hours

After work, chinos can be worn with a blazer and a pair of sneakers. Layered with a printed shirt for dinner with friends or worn with a tee or polo for drinks. The cotton-stretch fabric makes sure they’ll be comfortable, all day long.

Off Duty

During the weekend chinos are essential, especially for a long weekend away. Contrast details give our chinos a relaxed look, meaning they can be worn with a bomber jacket, knitwear or outerwear. During summer months, roll the hems and let your ankles breath.
